Overview
Momentum-Aware Days of Supply (mDOS)
This report identifies items that ARE selling but will run out before replenishment arrives. The core metric is mDOS (momentum-adjusted Days of Supply): unlike flat DOS (OH ÷ 30-day avg), mDOS uses an EWMA velocity that weights recent days more heavily — so a sudden sales surge shows up immediately, not averaged away. A Momentum Ratio (14-day vs. 60-day velocity) drives automatic tier promotions: SURGING items move up one tier. Low-confidence items (thin data, promo spikes, fresh receipts) are excluded from tier totals and shown with a ⚠ badge.
CRITICAL Out in ≤7 days
HIGH Out in 8–14 days
MEDIUM Out in 15–30 days
WATCH Surging, 31–60 days
